Day 2- You know its quite pathetic, but this is a lot harder than I thought. I can't even imagine being addicted to something, more powerful. I was almost in tears last night because my head pounded so badly. It all seems so silly. But even though it seems so silly, I can't deny the power a soda has over me. Crazy right?

Oh, I understand only my vice is not soda, but coffee and iced tea- mostly iced tea. That caffeine headache is HORRIBLE! I say that quitting caffeine cold turkey is insane! (I can't do it!) Maybe you should limit yourself to one soda in the morning (a kind you dislike- for me it would be like diet dr pepper) so that the headaches are lessened? I feel your pain, because when I was pg w/ rhayn i couldn't stomach ANY caffeinated anything, consequently I had a raging headache for weeks!
Good Luck!

I've never quite had that problem. But I have tried to cut out sugar before and I think that is my addiction. No headaches, but I just don't have the will power. I would feel better if I did though. Maybe someday I'll try again.

Try taking an excederine or an anicin. It has caffeine in it and should help with the headaches until you get out of the habit of drinking the soda.. I remember how those headaches are, and how many times I tried to quit but gave in because I couldn't stand the pain in my head.. But you can do it.. You can.. You can!!!!

I rarely drink soda but coffee cleanses my soul and helps me write lots and lots of papers. One time I had an early morning interview and I failed to take the time to drink coffee so my head decided to attempt to kill me by blurring my vision and making me nearly drive through a red light. After calling Tammy and telling her how I almost died and that I couldn't drive home I immediately found the closest Starbucks and mainlined the coffee right between my toes.

Glad to hear I'm not the only caffeine addict. It's probably a good thing I never found coffee to my liking, considering my addictive personality. I'm actually working on day 3 of a being caffeine free.

wheee good for you. Alex's human's idea about the excedrin is a good idea. i use that method when i am determined to quit the mountain dew. keep going. once you quit long enough you won't like the flavor anymore once you try it again. soda has a very aquired taste.
